Art Canvas

A heavy, coarse, closely woven fabric of cotton, hemp, or flax.

A relatively heavy book cloth, usually impregnated, which may be a single or double warp and is sometimes lined with tissue paper to prevent penetration of adhesives.

A piece of such fabric on which a painting, especially an oil painting, is executed.
